Zero Tolerance

I was speaking to some friends of mine who, I get the feeling, has started to alienate themselves from certain sect of people.

Why is this?

I can't believe this!

Why should runaway?

Why should we be wary?

Why in my country?

Why should I not have the freedom to walk into any place I want in my country?

Why should my heart skip a beat when I hear a cracker going off and mistake it to a gun shot?

Why should I hear people around the world say "India is getting unsafe and dangerous"?

Why should we lose young officers and gentlemen of this....my country?

Why?

Why can't we change this all?

Is this it?

Do I see my country, in the next 10 years, have 10 year olds carry automatic weapons to protect his mother or sister when they go out to buy vegetables?

Are we going to lose our freedom to the 'unknown'?

Am I going to, for the rest of my lives, look at a solitary bag and walk with my heart in my mouth?

or am I to learn to 'look out' for the invisible faceless man round the corner?

This is my country.

And I do not want some bunch motherfuckers walk in and ruin my COUNTRY!

Vivek moves on...

Our dear friend Vivek has decided to move on from on forest to another...

Though some of us wanted to debate that over the farewell lunch but vivek's no-thanks kind of smile to our comments, good food (@cafe masala), long-due gettogether of good'ol friends, and nice bangalore weather kept us from getting into anything but pleasant exchanges.

Let's see may be when we meet vivek and rest of the group in part-II (when vivek will sport an IBM tag instead of oracle) we will bring it up again :)

A visit to IIM-Bangalore...

Vivek and i visited the IIM-Bangalore campus (just for chill). It was a lovely trip, primarily because of the atmosphere, it reminded us of our college times. The best parts were the bread-omellete, tea & the gals (some nice on-campus chicks). There is something different about checking out girls oncampus than offcampus (i mean malls, and other outdoor places) :)

ibangle

A friend of mine has come up with a new design for the apple ipod. He shared this with apple and unfortunately they've come back to him with an Outside Submission Agreement saying since this is an unsolicited design / work and we are not obliged to pay the submitter blah blah blah

This iPod is Full of Air

It really is! Hear me out. The iBangle is Gopinath Prasana’s vision of a future iPod where the devices have become darn close to becoming jewelry. If you factor in inflation and the cost of Apple products today - might as well call it jewelry because it’ll cost as much. I digress, the iBangle is a thin piece of aluminum (of course) with a multi-touch track pad. To achieve the perfect fit, a cushion inside the ring inflates to keep itself taught against your wrist. Unisex? Maybe

Government - Realtime Information

I recently met a gentleman who works for the government and seem to have inside information about why a government doesn't care about real-time information. But what he ended telling me was something just the opposite.

He said that he was a part of a project during the Chandrababu Naidu period. It seems CB actually had real-time departmental information coming for guess what????!!!

When he makes his rounds to the constituencies where he is weak, he will get onto his 'exec dashboard' finds out how much revenue is generated during that weak so that he can determine how much money he can spend and announce monetary aid etc

That, I felt, was a cool thing.

But according to him that has not brought AP or for CB himself any mileage except some IT companies getting setup.

I still think that had it not been for CB, Hyderabad might have been another Lucknow or Bhopal.

Can you guys think of any use of real-time information for Government??
